Aesthetics simply is Beauty and art, in various forms and representations. We all have a certain aesthetic –
in the way we imbibe beauty,
an affinity to something a certain type of beautiful and
I am hopeful that all readers of this blog have some respect and recognition of aesthetics that may not always align with theirs.
All art shows something about the artist, symbols have universal meanings, colours have specific impact.
You might be a sunset person or a midnight sky, an old money charmer, a goth god, or a lover of street style comforts.
My whole point here is – Your aesthetics is how you represent yourself. so maybe, the reverse is also possible?
The more you adapt a certain kind of aesthetic- you also take with it the characteristics it represents.
Now fair warning, this might be slightly rugged for someone sensitive about words like “class”; to ensure we are on the same place, I am using the word in the connotation as ‘Class is a group of people who have similar resources, skills, beliefs and social aspiration as well as engagement.’ Simply put, a class is where you socially belong- like identifying and introducing yourself as a student of class 5.
Now we could go back and see how aesthetic have played a role in social class through time- may it be colours, textiles, metals, houses or even language and access to certain beautiful places, stories and knowledge.
Hey, no shade here, just letting you in a little- Its fine to be frugal and not go all around wrapped in logos Screaming it’s way to fit in a crowded box.
Your Aesthetics will show who you are and those who love it will love you anyways.
I am all too much a lover of art; and would eventually buy a birkin- Its a very mom thing for me, the lady made to fit more diapers after all.
